Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us at Aardvark. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information across our website, web app, and browser extension.

1. Introduction

Aardvark Holdings Inc. (“Aardvark,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Aardvark collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, web app, browser extension, or any related services (“Service”).

Aardvark is a creator-centric, extension-first platform that helps shoppers discover creator-recommended deals. Our intention is NOT to track you across the internet or collect unnecessary data. We use first-party analytics only, and we never sell your personal data.

By using Aardvark, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue using our services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Automatically Collected Data

We collect limited information to operate Aardvark effectively:

  • Creators you follow (to personalize your experience)
  • Deals, brands, and stores you view or click
  • Deals you use or redeem (to improve offer relevance)
  • Session activity (pages visited, clicks, performance analytics)
  • Referral source (how you discovered Aardvark)
  • Device & browser information used for security and debugging

2.2 Account & Profile Information

  • Google authentication data (name, email, profile photo)
  • Username or display name
  • Creator subscription status (if applicable)

2.3 Optional Social Connections

If you choose to connect social accounts (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube), we may access publicly available profile data to enhance your creator tools. You can disconnect these accounts at any time.

2.4 Payment Information

We do not store credit card or banking information. All payments are securely processed by Stripe or similar PCI-DSS-compliant providers.

2.5 What We Do NOT Collect

  • Private messages or personal communications
  • Sensitive data (health, religion, political views)
  • Biometric identifiers or government-issued IDs
  • Third-party ad tracking identifiers

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

  • Personalize your experience inside Aardvark
  • Surface deals relevant to your favorite creators
  • Improve product performance and reliability
  • Provide analytics to creators and brands (aggregated and anonymized only)
  • Maintain security and prevent fraud
  • Comply with legal obligations

We never sell your personal data. Any insights we share with creators or brands are strictly aggregated and anonymous.

We process your information when:

  • It is necessary to provide Aardvark’s services
  • It supports our legitimate interests (product improvement, security)
  • You consent to optional personalization settings

5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Aardvark uses a small number of first-party cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure usage.

  • Authentication (necessary)
  • Basic settings and preferences
  • First-party analytics (cookie-less when possible)

We do not use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or retargeting technologies. We do not allow social platforms (Meta, TikTok, Google Ads) to track you across Aardvark.

6. Personalization & Sponsored Deals

Aardvark personalizes which creators, brands, and deals you see inside the platform based on your activity (e.g., who you follow, categories selected, deals clicked).

Occasionally, brands may pay to “boost” a deal or placement inside Aardvark (e.g., in Explore or a brand page). These are not ads in the third-party tracking sense: no retargeting, no ad pixels, no data sharing with ad networks.

You can disable personalization at any time in your account settings. If you do, Aardvark will show more generic deals and creators.

7. When We Share Your Data

We only share information with:

  • Infrastructure and analytics providers that help us run Aardvark
  • Stripe (for payment processing)
  • Professional advisors (legal, accounting)
  • Legal authorities when required

We may share aggregated, anonymized insights with brands and creators. These reports do not identify individual users.

We never share your personal data with ad networks.

Aardvark may link to external brand websites. Their data practices are separate and governed by their own policies.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to operate Aardvark. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your information within approximately 30 days.

10. Data Security & Breach Notifications

We use encryption, secure access controls, and routine audits to protect your data. If a breach occurs, we will notify affected users consistent with applicable law.

11. International Data Transfers

Aardvark is based in the United States. By using our services from outside the U.S., you consent to having your data processed here.

12. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights such as:

  • Access, correction, or deletion of data
  • Portability of your data
  • Right to opt out of personalization
  • Right to restrict certain processing

To exercise these rights, email support@joinaardvark.com.

13. AI & Automated Decision-Making

We may use algorithms to recommend deals or creators. These processes do not produce legal or similarly significant effects on you, and you can opt out of personalization.

14. Age Restrictions

Aardvark is not intended for children under 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

15. Business Transfers

If Aardvark undergoes a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred in accordance with this policy.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app alerts.
